Recent events across the industry have highlighted an increase in cybersecurity threats and fraudulent activity involving unauthorized use of carrier identities. To help protect our partners and clients, we encourage everyone to follow these important guidelines when verifying loads or communications that appear to come from Hurricane Logistics:
- Always verify legitimacy by contacting our verified representatives directly before booking or dispatching a load. We do not use Gmail accounts so please be weary of anyone using these email addresses that do not use “HurricaneLogistics.net” domains.
- Be cautious of suspicious postings—if “our” representatives cannot confirm details beyond publicly available information, the load is likely unauthorized and fraudulent.
- We only use Georgia area code numbers (678, 404, 770, 706)
- Do not share sensitive information or make financial commitments until the load has been confirmed through official channels.
Report any suspicious activity immediately so that it can be investigated by our compliance and cybersecurity teams. Please note that Hurricane Logistics assumes responsibility only for loads legitimately arranged and executed by our company. Unauthorized use of our name, credentials, or federally regulated MC number is a federal criminal act, and such incidents are being pursued with the Georgia Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
